Almost everyone has fond memories of these classic toys. I know
our kids loved them.
There are basically three different types, ones
that have curved bottoms for true rocking motions, ones that are
suspended with springs or torsion devices of some sort at the corners
and ones with a mechanical pivoting device. Prices generally start
from $40.00 for the basic rocking horse to custom crafted heirloom
quality ones that go into hundreds or thousands of dollars. Good
ones can be found for under a $100.00. Nice spring versions are
about $150.00 and they seem to be kid's favorite for it's varied
and comfy ride. If you are handy with wood working tools, it should
be fairly easy to make a rocking horse yourself. There are plans
